This Pre-Qualification document is not an agreement and is not an offer or invitation to any other party. The purpose of this Pre-Qualification document is to provide the bidders with information to assist the formulation of their Pre-Qualification submission. This Pre-Qualification
document may not contain all the information needed by each bidder and may not be appropriate for all persons. Each bidder should conduct its own investigations, studies and analysis, and should check the accuracy, reliability and completeness of the information in this
Pre-Qualification document and obtain independent advice/information from appropriate sources.
Scope of the Project:
1. In fulfilling the core objectives, the successful bidder will need to design, develop and operate the project in a manner that both complements and challenges the existing infrastructure in the area and respects the history of the site and its surroundings.
2. The successful bidder will need to demonstrate a comprehensive
understanding of the heritage issues and requirements arising from the
heritage significance of the project site and the buildings and spaces on
and adjacent to the subject area, and how the new design will respond to and complement these buildings and spaces.
3. The successful bidder also needs to consider the incorporation of
elements of green technology in the development of the area.
4. The development of Cruise Terminal shall cover primarily the cruise and the cruise auxiliary works.
5. This Pre-Qualification seeks a development design in order to:
i. Ensure that the waterfront is accessible to the public;
ii. Facilitate high quality design elements;
iii. Protect, conserve and enhance the OUVs of George Town as part
of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Historic Cities of the Straits of
Malacca;
iv. Promote the greening of the waterfront with a variety of plant
materials that provide aesthetic and ecological benefits, including
trees, shrubs, and groundcover; and
v. Facilitate a wide variety of amenities, including access to water,
boat launches and anchorages, and play areas. |
